Initiative or position

In early position you are deciding before other players and in late position after most of the players. If you play in an early position you need to show initiative and play determined to win whith each hand you want to win the pot.

Be cautious when you choose the position to play from. The last position is usually the strongest. It is same as in negotiation: the party which has to say the price first is in disadvantage to the other party as the information received can be used and the party can suggest a price lower in a counter offer. The same thing applies to Poker: more information has the player in later position who decides after other players.
